Fighting court cases can be stressful. One can have various problems such as unfamiliarity with the court process, lack of control over the outcome, burden on finances, problems with the lawyer and so on.
In such a situation, one needs to be extra careful of their mental and physical health when fighting court cases.
Mindfulness of priorities
Instead of having a short-term aim of winning our court case, we should keep a long-term view and keep things in perspective. We should remember that our court cases are a small part of life. Losing or winning cases may not be completely in our hands, and we have to accept what happens rather than have expectations that everything will go in our favor, even if we strongly feel we are in the right. Even if we get judgments that are not in our favor, we should not allow such short term setbacks to affect our quality of life and always keep the bigger picture in mind. Similarly, if we get some judgments that do go in our favor, we should not be overwhelmed unduly and rather look at the bigger picture. We should get a clear idea of our priorities: what do we really want? What do we value most?
Staying physically healthy
To stay physically healthy during our court cases, we should ensure we have the following: 1) Proper breakfast and 3 meals daily at regular times 2) Proper 6-8 hours sleep at the same time daily 3) Exercise such as gym or yoga or simply walk or jog at least 5000 steps daily. 4) Regular medical checkups and take our medicines regularly if prescribed by the doctor.
Balancing commitments
We should always try to balance our commitments regularly. This includes: 1) Work commitments 2) Family commitments 3) Court case related commitments 4) Social Commitments with friends, and 5) Most importantly: ME time
Combating Stress
To combat stress from our court cases we should try the following: 1) Take Slower and deeper breaths 2) Do Mindfulness meditation 3) Smile more daily and be thankful 4) Keep a positive attitude no matter what happens
To conclude, we can deal with our court cases better if we can manage our commitments, keep low expectations, stay healthy and combat stress.
